Frequently Asked Questions

My agency has not purchased iNPUT-ACE yet. Can I still obtain an emergency license?
Absolutely! The iNPUT-ACE Emergency At-Home license is available to any investigator who can work at home during the COVID-19 pandemic.
There are multiple investigators at my agency who are working from home. Can I get more than one emergency license?
Yes. Please have each individual who needs a license fill out the Emergency At-Home License Request form. Once they have submitted the form, our team will make sure they get access to a license of iNPUT-ACE.

Request a License

Can I move this emergency license of iNPUT-ACE to a different computer?
Yes. Before moving your license, make sure you are connected to the internet and you have noted your six-digit license code. Launch iNPUT-ACE, navigate to the Help Menu and choose Licensing.

Near the bottom of the Licensing window, you’ll see the option to ‘Deactivate License.’ Follow the prompts to deactivate.

On the new computer, download the latest release of iNPUT-ACE and install it to your computer. Once installed, iNPUT-ACE will prompt you to enter your six-digit license ID. Remember, you must be connected to the internet when entering your license code. If you have any questions or troubles migrating your license, reach out to support@input-ace.com.

How many computers is my emergency license valid for?
Each iNPUT-ACE Emergency At-Home license is valid for one computer. If you need to move your license to a new machine, see the additional FAQ to learn how to migrate your license. If you need access to more than one at-home license, reach out to us at support@input-ace.com.
My workstation at home is not connected to the internet. Can I still use this emergency license?
Yes. On a computer that has internet, download the latest release of iNPUT-ACE. Using a USB thumb drive, copy the latest release to the computer that is not connected to the internet and install iNPUT-ACE on that machine. When prompted to enter your six-digit license code, do not enter your code. Instead, hover over the “ID ?” icon near the bottom of the Licensing Window. Click on the “?” to copy your Hardware ID to the clipboard and paste this alpha-numeric code into a notepad document. Move the notepad document to the USB thumb drive and transfer it back to the computer with internet access.

Email your Hardware ID for the computer that is not connected to the internet to support@input-ace.com and please let us know that you are activating an Emergency At-Home license of iNPUT-ACE on a computer that is not connected to the internet. Our team will send you a physical license that you can transfer to the offline computer.

What should I do if my workstation had an expired license of iNPUT-ACE before I received the emergency license?
Do a complete uninstall of iNPUT-ACE on that computer. Once uninstalled, make sure you are connected to the internet and install the latest release of iNPUT-ACE. When prompted, enter your six-digit license code to activate. If you don’t have a six-digit license code or you are unable to activate your license, reach out to support@input-ace.com.
I am connected to the internet and have entered my six-digit license code provided but iNPUT-ACE will not activate. What should I do?
If you are connected to the internet and entering your code does not activate iNPUT-ACE, it may because a firewall is blocking your computer from downloading your new license from the iNPUT-ACE server. Instead of entering your code, try hovering over the “ID ?” icon and click on the question mark to copy your Hardware ID. Send the Hardware ID to support@input-ace.com and let us know that you’re having difficulty activating your Emergency At-Home license of iNPUT-ACE.
I’m a new user of iNPUT-ACE. What resources are available to help me get up to speed with using the software?

If you are new to the software, there are a handful of resources available to get you started. Upon receiving the email with your iNPUT-ACE Emergency At-Home license information, you should have also received a link to a Getting Started with iNPUT-ACE Webinar.
