The strategic plan for the Chicago Police Department in 2019 addresses advanced video technology to achieve operational excellence in support of its commitment to improving safety for every citizen.
The CPD Area Tech Center currently operates two shifts, manned by 10 patrol officers, four detectives, a sergeant, and a crime analyst, who are all trained to utilize iNPUT-ACE.
iNPUT-ACE gives the team the ability to quickly and accurately access video for investigations and to take that capability into the field. The officers at the center are now able to assist homicide detectives at crime scenes, pulling surveillance video and viewing it at the scene to speed investigative efforts.
The department expects to leverage the power of iNPUT-ACE to improve case clearance rates for violent crimes across all of the neighborhoods of Chicago.
Chicago has also adopted Cellebrite’s technology which allows video and metadata from iNPUT-ACE to be integrated into case timelines with other digital intelligence like cell phone records.
